Bastrop is the county seat of Bastrop County. Located about thirty miles southeast of downtown Austin TX. and 20 minutes from ABIA.It sits on the Colorado River and at the junction of State highways 71, 21, and 95. Bastrop State Park in Bastrop or Buescher State Park in Smithville. There are local parks, including a walking trail that begins at Fisherman’s Park and continues to the other end of downtown Bastrop. Bastrop has maintained it's historical beauty including one of the oldest Opera Houses in Texas.
